- Latha Rajinikanth is the proud yet humble founder of "The Ashram Group of Institutions", where education is imparted with a difference and a rich learning atmosphere is evolved in order to facilitate sharing of knowledge. "The Ashram" is not just a school, but a 'Learning Home', with a goal of bringing about a realignment and reformation in the Indian educational scenario.
Yet another freedom struggle .....
..... this time in Education .....
..... and for children!!! - With a passion for children and their upbringing, Latha Rajinikanth went about researching on the ways in which education could do much more than just provide certificates through outdated system of examinations, whereby children undergo mental strain and agony.
- Her ideas were to categorize the missing links in the educational system today, and evolve a more purposeful structure to the schooling years for an individual, followed by a more focused higher education at the College level.
- This alone was not the vision of The Ashram, as the essence of the mission was to see an individual grow into a healthy-minded, right-charactered, wholesome, enterprising and dynamic person; who is ready to face the world and handle oneself with clarity and composure.
- Having established The Ashram Matriculation Higher Secondary School, in the normal stream, Latha Rajinikanth was not fully convinced that she had done what she was driven to do.
- A silent voice lurking within her, kept asking questions....
The answer to her queries unfolded after years of extensive research on the pattern and structure of the educational system in India, as TASSC (The Ashram's Specialized School Curriculum) - an enriched and wholesome learning environment for children .... a model board of education. - The pioneering vision of TASSC is to develop healthy minded, strong character, well-informed and self confident youngsters by providing them with the right structure to education.

TASSC .... in a nutshell
UNDERSTANDS what a student is, would like to be and naturally capable of being.
BELIEVES that the choice of subjects and curriculum should complement students abilities towards the choice of Profession and Career.
EMPHASIZES that by forcing students into a rigid / fixed pattern we fail to identify what is best in each individual.
District Education
After detailed surveys and studies, it has been decided to establish schools in all the 32 districts of Tamil Nadu. These schools will have the teaching methods of TASSC and the syllabus followed will be Tamil Nadu State Board. There will be a division dedicated to skills development and training which will be job oriented.
These schools will be on a minimum of 2 to 3 acres with all facilities for the over all development of the child.
These schools will impart knowledge based education along with equal importance to arts and sports.
The system will contribute to the development of the child in the following ways -
- Enterprise Building
- Artistic Development
- Personality Development
- Hands on experience in various projects to understand the aptitude of the child
- The students will have an opportunity to come to the school headquarters in Chennai to interact with the students, teachers and avail of special training.
